2019 // Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda

A large Silverback Mountain Gorilla looking directly into the camera, in the highlands of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda.

This is a close up portrait of the huge silverback in my other image from Bwindi Impenetrable forest. I am always so struck by this image. I can remember his eyes so big in the viewfinder of my camera, they really touched my soul. That day we had trekked for hours through the thick forest until we came across a family of Mountain Gorillas. There are just over 1000 individuals left, so these animals represent some of the last of their species.
