A Tragic Story
We are devasted to hear about the death of our dear friend, Steve Walker. Steve suffered a catastrophic cancer diagnosis and died after 6 short weeks; 12 days after his daughter Reign was induced early so that he could meet her. He also had a beautiful son, 20-month-old Beau who is best friends with our own little boy, born only a month apart.
Steve was a wonderful human, a fantastic husband, brother, cousin, son, friend and most of all a loving father to his two babies.
His family and friends are in complete shock at his sudden death and we are trying to raise money for his partner Tiello and his children. Nothing could ever compare to having Steve back, though much needed cash can help the family find a way forward.
100% of the proceeds from these prints will go to Tiello, Beau and Reign.
There is a watermark on the images bearing Beau and Reign’s names to remind you of them, to remind you to cherish your loved ones and to live your life to the fullest in honour of Steve and his family.
The prints are available as singles, in one size 12" x 18" though I have curated them to be shown as a triptych, encouraging you to buy them all with a discount for all three.
Shipping is a flat $35 worlwide, though if you are able to collect in Vancouver, or are connected with the family, then simply click the 'Pick-Up' option and I can arrange delivery / collection in Vancouver, Kelowna, Trail or Castlegar.
These images were taken in Steve’s final days. I was in Mexico waiting for news of his treatment. I felt sad, unable to help and far away from friends and family. I did the thing I know best which is to take photographs. I was trying to concentrate on photographing whales but my eye kept on focusing on the huge, powerful waves that were pounding the shoreline in front of me. I shot these images thinking about Steve and his wonderful family, the good times we spent together and reflecting on my own little family.
These images are meant to be a tribute to Steve, and a reminder to us all that we have a duty to live life to the fullest, and spend as much time with our loved ones as possible.
Please share far and wide, the more people we can get to purchase these prints, or to donate to the fundraiser, the better.
If you simply want to donate, there is a GoFundMe campaign set up which can be found here:
